4 week-drop off program for 3rd to 5th graders
Wednesdays, March 7, 14, 21, 28, 4:30 - 5:30pm

Calling all aspiring scientists, engineers, and just plain curious 3rd to 5th graders...
Join us for a
4-week, drop-off program to explore, build, and experiment with scientific concepts using Museum exhibits. Space limited, registration required.
Cost: $100/per child (member)
$120/per child (non-member)

March programs include:

Solar Race Cars - Energize their minds with this hot topic
Build a solar powered car while learning about the basics of energy.  Children will discover the difference between potential and kinetic energy, investigate a solar panel, and finally design and race their very own solar powered car.

Earth Rocks! Take a look inside
Students will learn how Earth was formed and how volcanoes today can give us a picture of what the interior of the earth is like now. They’ll  rock to the beat in a lively way learning about the Earth’s  inner layers and be “hands-on” geologists breaking open a hollow rock that reveals fascinating crystals.

DNA Detectives "Gene"ious scientists in the making
Lab coats, goggles and lab equipment provided as kids are guided through the scientific method of extracting DNA strands from strawberry cells.

Sharks-  Get up close with this amazing creature...inside and out
A virtual "shark-o-pedia" for children. They will venture through a fantastic lesson in comparative anatomy during this dissection of a preserved (over 2ft long) dogfish shark, make a "shark-o-meter" to measure dozens of different species and (with site approval)  taste a piece of freshly cooked Mako shark steak.
