Exploring Play: Feathers & Fur/Our Animal Friends in Winter

How do people, animals and birds stay warm in the winter in their own unique ways? Join our weekly Exploring Play program to pretend to hibernate in a cave like a bear; storytime with a bear who can't fall asleep in winter, touch and sort real feathers; and use colorful feathers to make their own birds to take home. 

Exploring Play, held on Friday mornings, is designed for children ages 2 to 4. Every month will feature a new theme brought to life for young children through creative and fun movement activities; song; story and a take home project for all. Parents and caregivers are provided with information on the latest developments in Play research for young children. Come join the fun!

Animation Workshop at Explore-A-Thon

Explore-a-thon features a broad range of interactive activities, including a very special Animation Workshop with Artist BJ Crawford from Blue Sky, the studio that brought you the Ice Age movies and the forthcoming Ferdinand. Kids will explore the concepts of animation by creating their own mini animation project. Each session starts with a showing of the Ferdinand trailer.
