Public Sewing Day with Amanda Browder

  • Westchester Children's Museum 100 Playland Parkway Rye United States (map)

NEW SERIES!
Each month, we will travel around the world to explore past and current artists, their works, and unique styles. Our special program will include hands-on art making in the style of the featured artist. Expect a lot of color, imagination, and surprises as we create our own masterpieces!

All ages welcome, included with Museum admission.

About the Workshop:
Public Sewing Day with Amanda Browder

CALLING ALL TWEENS, TEENS, & ADULTS: Join us for a VERY special opportunity to contribute to an exciting Public Art Textile Project that will be on display this May in White Plains, NY, draped over the 9-story ArtsWestchester Building! Amanda needs our help sorting, pinning, and sewing giant fabric strips, and we'll get to learn all about fabric sculptures in the process! Children of all ages are welcome to participate, but we will also offer a workshop for younger children on fabric art if they aren’t interested in sewing.

PLEASE RSVP HERE.

For more information on Amanda Browder’s project with ArtsWestchester, visit artsw.org/browder

Adult/teen/tween volunteers coming just to participate in the project are FREE and do not need to come with a younger child. Families coming with children to also play in the Museum will pay admission prices unless they have a membership.
All sewing materials provided, however, if you have fabric (non-stretchy, no clothing, saturated colors) that you would like to bring, we will happily accept. You may also bring your own sewing machine if you'd like to use that yourself.

Snacks will be served!
