In this printmaking workshop, we will develop our powers of observation, imagination and memory as we create self-portraits using handmade stamps. With found and natural materials, we’ll construct stamps of our eyes, mouths and other facial features. Then we’ll print them to create a series of realistic, silly or abstract images of ourselves. For inspiration, we'll look at how artists like Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Elizabeth Catlett approached the portrait. We'll discuss line, shape, texture and color as we stamp our selfies!
