At Westchester Children's Museum, we believe children learn best when having fun, actively exploring their environments, and engaging in playful interactions with others. Our educational philosophy results in a vibrant, interactive, playful learning space and experiences that nurture curiosity, enhance knowledge, & ignite imaginations.

Hands-On STEAM Workshops: Most schools add-on one of our workshops: Art to Animation, Light & Sound, STEAM Fairy Tales, Energy & Magnets, Space Exploration, Kids Chemistry, Environmental Explorers, Historic Technology & Simple Machines, Create Art with Math, Building Structures, and Wind & Flight.

Our Educator Guide contains everything you need to know, including an easy sign-up process for one class, one grade, or the entire school. Don't hesitate to contact our Education and Program Manager for information and booking inquiries!

Helpful Info

  • Field Trip Format: Our field trips take place while the Museum is open to the general public and are conducted in a semi-guided format. Each class (preschool to 5th grade) will have a dedicated Museum educator to lead all smaller chaperoned groups around the Museum floor.

  • Scheduling: Morning and afternoon sessions, lasting 90 minutes to 2 hours, are available. Most schools add one of our 30-minute STEAM workshops.

  • Capacity: The Museum can accommodate up to 6 daily classes for on-site field trips (approximately 120 students and 20 chaperones). If your group exceeds this capacity, we can arrange for multiple-day visits.
