Executive Director

The Board of Trustees of the Westchester Children’s Museum is seeking an Executive Director to provide leadership in advancing the Museum’s mission and goals across its exhibitions, programs, and outreach. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader, a strategic and proven fundraiser, and a community ambassador. The new Executive Director will have the exciting and unique opportunity to bring their own vision to the momentum driving the Museum towards its full potential as the hub for interactive playful learning for children with their parents, caregivers, and schools. This role provides an opportunity to lead the Museum in a period of growth through thoughtful fundraising, staff recruitment and development, and strategic exhibit and programmatic expansion. Museum Experience Facilitator (Play Worker) - Part Time

Also called PLAY WORKER, the Museum Experience Facilitator is an integral part of our floor staff and is a responsible, creative, and outgoing individual. They have experience and interest in working with children. Facilitators assist our visitors as they explore our hands-on exhibits. They are responsible for providing the highest level of customer service and engagement for visitors.  Facilitators collaborate with other staff members to create and facilitate meaningful educational experiences.  Successful Facilitators perform their duties with enthusiasm, imagination, and a passion for education. 


Museum Experience Manager - Full (benefits eligible)or Part Time

Position Overview:

The Museum Experience Managers (MEMs) are active participants in the Education & Experience Department, participating in exhibit and special event planning, implementation, and evaluation for DCM.

The MEMs work collaboratively to oversee the management of exhibition offerings, the Playworker team, Visitor Services systems, all related grant-funded projects, and represent the educational mission of WCM within the Museum and with outside agencies and institutions.


Educator & Programs Manager - Full (benefits eligible) or Part Time

Job Summary: 

The Education and Program Managers (E&PMs) are active participants in the Education & Experience Department, participating in school workshop, field trip, and public/event program planning, implementation, and evaluation for WCM.

The E&PMs work collaboratively to oversee the educational content and management of school and public programs, all related grant-funded projects, and represent the educational mission of WCM within the Museum and with outside agencies and institutions.


Museum Educator - Part Time

Position Overview:
Museum Without Walls, a program of the Westchester Children’s Museum, makes our hands-on programming available to as many children as possible by leaving the walls of the Westchester Children’s Museum and visiting them in their own learning environments. The Westchester Children's Museum is searching for an enthusiastic and creative individual to assist with this program.  This individual should have a passion for elementary and middle school education and be interested in bringing the Museum’s unique interactive STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Math) activities directly to schools, camps, and community centers throughout Westchester County.
