NEW!!
Calling all aspiring scientists and just plain curious 3rd through 5th Graders!
Join us for a
4-week, drop-off program to explore, build, and experiment with scientific concepts using Museum exhibits. Space limited, registration required.
Wednesdays, January 10, 17, 24, 31, 4:30 - 5:30pm
Cost: $100/per child (member); $120/per child (non-member)

Weekly themes:

Week 1 - Roller Coaster Challenge
Using math skills to control potential and kinetic energy forces, students work in teams to construct a coaster that will let a ball travel as far as possible.

Week 2 - The Cantilever Bridge - a tricky balancing act
Test how your model car moves across a bridge you build based on your engineering skills! It’s a construction activity based on balancing tension forces.

Week 3 – Moving Air – One of Mother Nature's Most Interesting Forces
By making observations about the ways in which an object behaves in a wind stream, students will design, construct, and immediately test their creation in the Museum’s fantastic wind tube.

Week 4 - What Floats Your Boat? - Buoyancy at work
Students will create a boat that matches the force of gravity acting on it with the force of the water pressing against it, thus keeping your boat from sinking.
