EXPLORING ART THROUGH THE ARTISTS: Niki de St. Phalle

NEW SERIES!
Each month, we will travel around the world to explore past and current artists, their works, and unique styles. Our special program will include hands-on art making in the style of the featured artist. Expect a lot of color, imagination, and surprises as we create our own masterpieces!

AUGUST FEATURED ARTIST: Niki de St. Phalle
A French-American sculptor, painter, and filmmaker.  Widely noted as one of the few female monumental sculptors, de Saint Phalle was also known for her social commitment and work.  Her Art evolved into Nanas, light-hearted, whimsical, colorful, large-scale sculptures of animals, monsters, and female figures. One critic said: "The French-born, American-raised artist is one of the most significant female and feminist artists of the 20th century".

Come join us on Saturday (11am-12.30pm and 1pm-2.30pm) as we learn about how Niki created her work, and make our own colorful sculptures!

All ages welcome, included with Museum admission.
