Come see the "Koi Nobori", on exhibit as part of the Exploring Art Through The Artist series. Then join artist Chemin Hsiao to create your very own Koi Nobori (Carp Flag) and get ready to celebrate Children’s Day (May 4th) in the tradition of Japan.

About The Artist

Chemin Hsiao (蕭喆旻, Taiwan) is a visual artist based in Queens and Brooklyn (Chashama Studio Space), New York. Hsiao received his BFA and MFA from the School of Visual Arts. In 2021, his artist banners proposal "Dandelions Know" was selected as the winner at the Noguchi Museum to help raise awareness for the anti-Asian violence that surged during the pandemic. He was also a recipient of New Work Grant (2017, 2019, 2021) and ArtSite Public Art Commissioning (2018) from Queens Council on the Arts.
